Here are a few random pictures from my apartment. The pictures of the green bags between cars shows what you do with your trash here. You put it in a bag and throw it in the street, any day, any time. Eventually it disappears; I don't ask questions.
The picture with the scooter is the front entrance to Seorabal Villa, a.k.a. my casa.
The next picture is of my kitchen. It's small and modest but more than sufficient for one guy.
The last picture is of my bedroom. I was in the middle of moving some things and organizing and decided to snap off a picture. You might ask, "why not clean and then take a picture?" The answer: I just don't care that much. Sorry.
So I was standing on a street corner the other day waiting for the little green man to start flashing so I could cross the street to work. All of a sudden a white car pulled up in front of me, the window rolled down, and a twenty-something young man stuck his head out the window and began asking me questions in Korean. I can not be sure exactly what he was asking me, but his body language and inflection gave me the distinct impression that he was inquiring about directions. I was speechless. What Korean would stop at a corner to ask a foreigner for directions? I can do better as well. Not only am I a foreigner and obviously the wrong person to ask for directions in Korea, but I was standing alongside 5 other native Koreans! I just do not get it.
SUCKS ASS: I was doing really good with dieting and running the past two weeks and today a co-worker took me out for sumyup sal (really fatty bacon). It is grilled at the table and eaten in large portions. Long story short, in one meal I lost a week's worth of work, and that pisses me off.
KICKS ASS: My schedule is changing again. I am losing all of my older students for a while and taking younger kids. This means a more laid back teaching environment and even less hours than I have now, which is hard to imagine.
